“Biotechnology for agricultural sustainability in the era of climate change”
The main challenge of the modern agriculture in 21st-century is ensuring healthy environment and climate-resilient crops for the achievement of food security at regional and global level. Biotechnology is a powerful tool for facilitating and advancing sustainable agriculture by increasing yield, biotic-and abiotic stress resistance and improving the nutritional content of crops. In the era of green technology, agricultural scientists are armed with multidisciplinary approaches that combine plant science, engineering, food technologies, and economics, for the welfare of society. The IV International Green Biotechnology congress will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria on 07-08 November, 2024. The theme of the congress is “Biotechnology for agricultural sustainability in the era of climate change”. The congress will open a discussion on the prospects of green technologies for development of sustainable climate-resilient agriculture. The congress will be hosted by the Agricultural Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria. The congress program will focus on the following thematic areas:
- Plant genomics, proteomics and metabolomics
- Precision plant breeding – marker-assisted selection, genome editing techniques, plant phenomics
- Plant cell and tissue culture
- Beneficial soil microbiomes, phytoremediation, biotechnological tools for managing soil fertility, plant growth and plant health
- Circular bioeconomy

How to register?
To register for participation, please complete and submit the registration form. If you want to participate with oral presentation or poster, you can submit the abstract/title with the registration, or later via email. The registration is considered completed only after the respective congress fee is paid.

What is the maximum number of submissions per single congress participant?
Each presenting author is allowed only one abstract submission.

What types of presentation are available?
The presentations can be oral or poster. Please, mark your presenting preferences in the registration form. However, the final decision about the presentation form will be made by the Scientific Committee.

Deadline for abstracts submission: 30.09.2024.
Notification of the authors of approved abstracts: 30.09.2024.
Early bird registration fee payment: 30.09.2024.
Regular registration fee payment: 15.10.2024.
Deadline for full text manuscripts: 21.10.2024.

The manuscripts will be published in the journals of Agricultural Academy: Bulgarian Journal of Crop Science Bulgarian Journal of Soil Science, Agrochemistry and Ecology Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Economics and Management The Scientific Committee will nominate selected manuscripts for publishing in Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Science (BJAS)

The poster size is 100(height) x 70 (width) cm. The participant is required to print their poster in portrait format and bring it to the registration desk on 07.11.2024.
